PERC Comes Up Short Versus Pittsburgh

PERC traveled this weekend to face a tough Pittsburgh side in Western Pennsylvania. Eager for redemption after a defeat at the hands of Rocky Gorge last weekend, PERC trained well during the week and was ready for a challenging match. Unfortunately, the end result was not in their favor, although the side did earn two bonus points on the day.

A few minutes into the match, it was Pittsburgh with the first try. The home side was well prepared and used their speed and size to test the PERC defense throughout the day. After a great few minutes of strong defense by PERC, Kenny Rothman cleared the zone with a great kick into Pittsburgh zone. PERC was able to turn over the ball, and maintain a tight offensive series. Finishing series off with a try was Joanel, who doted it down after a great series of passing off the ruck to the wing. After few series of solid defensive play and effective clearing kicks, by both sides, it was PERC again on the board when Cal took the ball in off a short and beat his man to take it into the try zone.

Minutes later it was PERC again on the board, after the speedy winger Joanel pick the ball up from his own 22 and beat the six Pittsburgh players to take it to the house. Sadly for PERC, this was a game of two halves, as Pittsburgh would comes out strong in the second half and take the victory. Not to be outdone though, Dom Tom and put PERC’s final try in to secure the two bonus points.
