PERC Falls To Local Rival Rocky Gorge

Rocky Gorge 43 PERC 19

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon PERC took on strong division rival Rocky Gorge. The game opened with strong back and forth play by both sides, with Gorge dotting the first try down early off a pick and go. Soon after, PERC answered with a try of their own as Guy took the ball in off a quick tap from 15 meters out. Moments later it was PERC again on the board. After a great series of ball movement across the field, the ball came back and to Joanel who offloaded to Will who beat 3 defenders and took it in from 45 meters out!

As the match progressed, both sides showed great strength in the rucks and tackle contests. Although both sides played well, it was Gorge who took advantage of their opportunities and capitalized on and gaps that PERC did not seal. Until the last play of the match, it was only Gorge on the board with great line breaks leading to tries. On the final play, PERC should heart and the pack punched in a try off a driving maul from a lineout. Putting the ball down was Bill Whalen.

D2 also fell on the day. PERC looks to rebound next week versus Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh.
