PERC Opens the Fall Against Roses

With league play quickly approaching, PERC opened the season with a scrimmage against the Lancaster Roses. Player-Coach Kenny Rothmann lead the team from sideline, and Ed Sharkey captained the forwards with Chris Saint leading the backs. It was a spirited match between the two sides, but Roses ended up taking the victory by a final of 35-30.

Leading the scoring for PERC was the legendary J’son Townes with 3 tries to his name. Considering he has not been seen at practice in months, this was quite the feet. Next on the sheet was Joenel, the fleet footed winger dotted 2 tries and was always a threat on the outside. Rounding out the scoring was rookie Dante Lopresti, who took the ball from 10 meters out on tap and go and muscled his way through. PERC has high hopes for the young front rower.

PERC does not have a game this week, but the squad’s first league match is 9/9 versus a strong Norfolk Blues side which promises to be an exciting match.
